What's New in Colara: July 2026

July was one of the biggest shipping months in Colara's history. Guest management got a complete overhaul, the Wedding Day Portal became a true one-link command center, and your finances learned to tell you which clients are actually profitable. Here is the tour.

AI addresses your invitation envelopes

Addressing 150 envelopes by hand, with correct etiquette for every household, is nobody's favorite evening. Colara's AI now drafts formal invitation addressing for your entire guest list at once, in styles from traditional Mr. and Mrs. to modern. You and your couple review and approve each suggestion, then export the approved envelopes for printing or your calligrapher.

The Guest List and Address Book now stay connected automatically, households keep children and plus-ones organized with individual meal details, and everything round-trips through CSV import and export. Build and approve the full wedding menu

Guests & Events now includes a private Full Menu workspace for planners and couples. Add courses, dish descriptions, dietary tags, and team notes, then connect each entree to its short RSVP meal choice so confirmed selection counts update themselves. Email the menu to the couple for approval, and let the caterer keep it current through the Wedding Day Portal.

One link for the whole wedding day

The Wedding Day Portal now holds the complete live Command Center: timeline status, chat, broadcasts, vendor credits, and coordinator controls. Couples and collaborators keep one portal link open all day instead of juggling logins, and a new Add the Couple action makes the choice explicit: the simple portal-only experience, or a full invitation into the Colara planning workspace.

Google Meet links on every consultation

Scheduling can now create a unique Google Meet link for every new booking. Choose Google Meet on your Booking Page, connect Google Calendar once, and the link rides along everywhere it needs to be. July also brought booking buffer time, calendar-block awareness, a double-booking warning, and an embeddable booking page for your own website.

Know which clients actually make you money

Expenses can now be linked to a client, a specific event, or kept as general overhead. The new Client & Event report compares contracted and collected revenue against direct expenses per client, and the same assignments export to CSV, PDF, or the monthly QuickBooks workbook. Pair it with the new proposal conversion report to see which packages close.

See every email you send, and who opened it

The Email Log now captures every message Colara sends on your behalf, not just CRM sends. Timeline shares, booking confirmations, vendor coordination, RSVP and guest emails, and portal invites all show up in one place with delivery and open tracking, and messages to CRM contacts thread into their Inbox conversation.
